I started am internship through the KC Clay Guild in February.  It has been an amazing experience with all kinds of new challenges.  KC Clay Guild has a great facility filled with people of all experience levels.  I have been assisting with the Tuesday night class taught by Brian Klapmeyer.  Brian is a well rounded potter with tons of knowledge.  The people in the class make it a fun filled experience.  I will be teaching a workshop there April 30th with Alberto Veronica.  The workshop is about thrown and altered pieces.  May 9th KC Clay Guild is throwing a fantastic party call Raku Night.  We have gotted permits to block of the streets and are inviting the community to come participate.  Food has been donated and Boulevard is donating kegs!!!!  There will also be a live band.  Come check us out!

A sad day at the Kansas City Art Institute

May 16, 2008

Christa Assad is going back to California.  Her year at KCAI as the throwing teacher went by fast, but will not be forgotten.  She was a excellent teacher with allot to offer.  Soon she will be spreading her creativeness back to California.  Now the question sits who in the world could replace her.

Time for Change

May 14, 2008

It is now the end of the semester.  The Ceramics Department at the Kansas City Art Institute ended the semester with an exceptional show titled Chemicals in Balance.  Many talented young artist that will soon be submerged in the professional ceramics community had an opportunity to display and sell their work.  I will now be headed to Lone Star Montgomery College near Houston Texas for an internship.  The Internship will entail working along the side of Robby Wood as his studio assistant.  Robby is an potter that graduated from Fullerton and now is the main ceramics professor at Montgomery College.  After the internship I will return to KCAI for senior year!!
